Daily Post: Game of Groans
Think about an object, an activity, or a cultural phenomenon you really don’t like. Now write a post (tongue in cheek or not — your call!) about why it’s the best thing ever.
Oh Weeds, you’re here again,
Pulling, and hoeing,
are breaking my back.
I think you’ve won,
I’ll let you live,
I’ll love you,
And feed you,
And call you “George.”
And THEN, you will die, like all the other plants I ever called “George.”

My entire garden (?) if indeed you could call it a garden, is a George. From the pink eyed weed, to the dandelions of summer. I think of it this way. Weeds are just flowers without a pedigree. I’m no snob. Let’em grow, I say!

Hahaha! I wouldn’t mind dandelions or other flowers without pedigrees, what we are overwhelmed with out here are SANDBURS! And they HURT! Ugh! I’m almost finished moving my flowers to the backyard where there is less sun (the north side of our property, which is supposed to be shady) actually gives those plants 14 hours of direct sunlight, daily. I’m with you Marilyn, let the damn weeds be happy, they’re the only stuff that will grow there anyway!

We used to get burrs in New York. All different kinds. It could take a very long time to rid yourself of them after a run in. Of course, I don’t go in the woods in the summer. Nasty things live there.
