Sleep study test tonight.
Oh joy, oh joy!
I don’t understand how they think these studies give any kind of accurate readings. The beds are miserably uncomfortable and you are covered with wires. Not exactly my normal sleep pattern!
This will be my 1st time and I’m so tired already, I just hope I don’t fall asleep while I’m driving there.
How did yours go? Do you have sleep apnea?
Supposedly I did, but I had the flu when I was tested, so I ignored it. I don’t snore any more and I doubt I have sleep apnea. They just like renting those machines. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone NOT getting diagnosed with sleep apnea who went for a sleep study. Have you?
You are so right Marilyn! Everyone walks out of there ‘knowing’ that they need a CPAP machine.
I was home before 6:00 a.m. this morning. I do not know how I drove the ten miles of country back roads while being zombie-like from lack of sleep! After I get some rest, I’m going to write a post about my experience and after thoughts about my very own sleep study. Yawn…
Go for it. If they want sleep studies that mean anything, they are going to have to rethink the conditions under which they conduct them. Or so I think.
On the departing questionairre, one of the questions was “will you be purchasing a CPAP machine?” Even though I cannot think, I already knew the answer to this question and wrote a great BIG “NO!!”
Maybe I’m just a cynic, but I think the whole point of the study is to get you to buy a cpap machine.
I’m going for one of these soon. I’m told the bed is like sleeping on a pile of uneven bricks and the room is an old broom cupboard. Oh what joy!
I still can’t sleep! I have to upload the photos that I took of the room, wires and bed. I have a VERY bad back and was in pain all night because the bed was too firm for me (I have a sleep number bed at home). The wires stuck to my head were bothersome.
Things might be pleasantly different for you since you are across the “pond”! 😀
Ouch. I’d love to see the photos, it’d be really interesting. The place I’m going to is in a noisy general hospital. Ah yes, they kick you out at 6am here too 🙂
And gee. What a surprise. EVERYONE comes up with sleep apnea! Couldn’t have anything to do with the miserably uncomfortable sleeping conditions could it?
